Code of Ethics for the National Association of REALTORS®


REALTORS® are required to complete ethics training of not less than 2 hours, 30 minutes of instructional time within two-year cycles. (Background on the change to a two-year requirement is here.) The training must meet specific learning objectives and criteria established by the National Association of REALTORS®.             

The current two-year cycle began January 1, 2019. The deadline for this cycle is December 31, 2020.

Training may be completed through local REALTOR® associations or through another method, such as home study, correspondence, classroom courses, or online courses.

To see if you have met the Code of Ethics requirement for the current cycle you can either:

  •  Visit nar.realtor and click sign in in the top right corner*. Once there go to Manage Your Account>Change Member Data Profile> View Education Data.

      *If you have not set this up, you can first register with your NRDS ID and Last Name
